Caitlin MacBride
Painter Caitlin MacBride (b. 1983) spends time mining museum archives for new muses. She’s particularly interested in objects made by the Shakers, a celibate Christian sect founded in the 1700s known for its pragmatic, yet refined, craftsmanship. With a distinctive color palette and bold compositions, MacBride captures objects with an allure and sensuality normally reserved for living things.
